‘Complicated, she is no longer what she used to be’ SOLD
Oil painting. Format 140 × 80. Year 2025. I gave space to this story, allowing silence and memory to exist side by side.
In this painting, silence is the first thing you see.
The woman's face remains calm, almost resigned, as if everything violent had already happened. Behind her, blood spills and intertwines, resembling a trace that has been left behind.
The palette is limited to shades of grey, from cool tones to deep anthracite, and reds ranging from light, almost vivid, to heavy, crimson. This contrast creates tension between calmness and what has been experienced.
‘Complicated, she is no longer what she used to be’ is a story about a transformation that does not scream.
About how experiences leave traces not always on the face, but more often under the skin. The painting is full of calmness and at the same time extremely intimate, because it touches on the moment when a person recognises that something has changed irrevocably.
If the painting is available for purchase, please contact me. I will be happy to provide more photos and short video recordings so that you can see the texture of the paint, the details and the character of the work before making your decision.
