Oil painting, 80x40 format. Year 2015. A moment of suspension between what we show the world and what remains only within us.
In this painting, I have divided the face.
One side wears smooth, confident, almost theatrical make-up. The other is bare, quiet, more sincere.
Underneath the layer of colour and light, I have hidden a sadness that cannot be completely covered up, even with the most skilful brushstrokes.
